Social Emotional Behavior (SEB) Resources

A Note and Resources from Jackie Cueroni, Hemenway's Social Emotional Behavior (SEB) Coach

I am the SEB Coach at Hemenway Elementary School. I have worked in Framingham Public Schools since 2008, and have been at Hemenway since 2011. I have been a resident of the City of Framingham for over 30 years and raised my 4 children here, all of whom received their education in the Framingham Public Schools. I received my Bachelor's degree majoring in Psychology and Economics, my Master's degree in School Counseling. I am also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Here at Hemenway I work closely with the school social worker, the school counselor, academic coaches, school psychologist, classroom teachers, nurse, and Administrators. I support all students and families with social-emotional, and behavioral concerns to help ensure student emotional and academic success. I consult with teachers on classroom management, and student emotional and behavioral concerns to  develop plans that will help students access academics and succeed both academically and socially.

I have an open-door policy and am here not only to work with your children, but to help support parents regarding their children’s social emotional and educational needs while attending Hemenway School.

My role at Hemenway is varied; some of the responsibilities you may find me engaged in throughout the school day include:

  • Assisting students with academic and social/emotional needs
  • Social skills groups
  • Individual, group, and crisis counseling
  • School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support - School Coach
  • Social Emotional curriculum support and instruction
  • Participation in Team meetings to help develop student supports
  • School-based consultation with teachers and parents to provide helpful suggestions and support for student’s social, emotional needs
  • Facilitate Community meetings for all students: these meetings include teaching SEL lessons on Character trait of the month, teaching students important aspects of the Code of Character, Conduct and Support and celebrating student successes each month.

Below are some links parents might find useful to help children on a variety of topics. There are links for books if your child is experiencing anxiety, links for Social Emotional videos i.e., self-esteem, as well as links to help structure work and play time while your children are home during the extended school closures and summer vacation. I will continue to add resources as they become available.

I look forward to meeting each of you.

Love,

Mrs. Cueroni
